From the principal dancer of Finland's Helsinki Ballet to a company of dancers with Down syndrome in Madrid to urban dancers on the streets of the Dominican Republic, Dancers travels the world to ask a simple question: why do we dance? Filmmaker Juan Vicente Chuliá and his crew find as many answers as there are dancers — therapeutic, social, educational, spiritual — building a portrait of a single art form practiced a thousand different ways.
The documentary was named Best Feature Documentary at both the AliveDoc International Documentary Film Festival and Brazil's Festival Cena Expandida, and received the Award for Outstanding Excellence at the Docs Without Borders Film Festival.
